Meet the Team Behind CompositesWorld Media
Rick Brandt is Publisher of Additive Manufacturing Media, a B2B media brand devoted to the advancement of 3D printing with an emphasis on industrial production. In this role, Rick leads the sales and business development efforts of its media channels. Joining Gardner Business Media in 2006, Rick maintains an active sales territory serving clients engaged in the durable goods manufacturing markets helping to connect technology buyers and sellers.
Jeff Sloan has been editor-in-chief of CompositesWorld since 2006 and directs and manages all editorial content for all of the brand’s products, including printed magazine, digital content, newsletters, videos and podcasts. Jeff is a member of SAMPE and has appeared as a speaker at SAMPE conferences and CAMX as well as Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) meetings. He was co-chair of the Carbon Fiber 2020 conference.
Prior to joining CompositesWorld, Jeff worked for 10 years as editor and then publisher of Injection Molding, Modern Plastics and Plastics Machinery & Auxiliaries magazines. Ginger Gardiner, a Senior Technical Editor at CompositesWorld, began writing for Composites Technology and High Performance Composites as a contributor in 2006. She was hired as senior editor of the now combined CompositesWorld publication in 2013. She is a co-author of the textbook Essentials of Advanced Composite Fabrication & Repair. Ginger has a degree in mechanical engineering from Rice University and began her career as a technical marketing representative in DuPont’s Composites Division for KEVLAR and NOMEX products in aerospace and marine applications. Hannah Mason joined the CompositesWorld team in 2018 after working as an editorial intern for sister magazine Modern Machine Shop and earning a Masters of Arts in Professional Writing from the University of Cincinnati.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Grace Nehls joined the CompositesWorld and MoldMaking Technology team in April 2020 as assistant editor for print production. She has been an editorial intern for two independent publishing presses and marketing director for one of Miami’s magazine publications.
Cara Decknadel is the assistant digital content editor of MoldMaking Technology and CompositesWorld. Previously, she was an implementation consultant at a digital marketing agency and interned at CMG Ohio.
Cara has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a minor in Sociology from Wright State University.
